The Safety Squad

Our Gas Safe Hero Doug was introduced in 2014 as an emblem of Gas Safety Week and the Gas Safe registered engineers fighting to keep the nation safe. For 2019’s Gas Safety Week, he was joined by the Safety Squad – four engineers to back him up and represent the diverse portfolio of gas work undertaken by engineers in the UK.

Leon works for a large Gas Safe registered business and is qualified to work on domestic and commercial appliances. For the past 8 months Leon has been working on a contract fitting gas boilers and smart controls in new-build properties.

Aisha has been working in the industry for the past 12 years. The majority of her work consists of working with local authorities and housing associations to carry out landlord gas safety checks, repairs and maintenance.

Bob has been in the industry for over 35 years. He is an all-rounder in the domestic world of gas as he carries out maintenance, repairs and installations and is qualified to work on a wide range of domestic appliances. Bob has always taken pride in his work and enjoys passing on his knowledge to his two current apprentices.

Olivia set up as a sole trader in 2017, having served an apprenticeship with Bob for several years. A large proportion of her work involves carrying out annual gas safety checks for homeowners and in rental properties for regular customers, but inevitably she finds herself attending more breakdowns in the winter months, which has helped to grow her customer base.
