What is gas safety week?
Gas Safety Week, coordinated by Gas Safe Register, will
see the gas industry and consumer organisations come together to
promote gas safety.
Every year thousands of people across the UK are diagnosed with
carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, which can be caused by
unsafe central heating systems, gas cookers or gas fires.
That's why Gas Safety Week aims to raise awareness of gas safety
and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances. Badly
fitted and poorly serviced appliances can cause gas leaks, fires,
explosions as well as carbon monoxide poisoning. Using an illegal
gas fitter can put lives at risk, only a Gas Safe registered
engineer should carry out gas work. Gas Safety Week
will take place from 10th - 16th September 2012 - save the
date!
Last year, with support from nearly 1,000 organisations, we
estimate there were 140 million opportunities for the
public to hear about gas safety during Gas Safety Week. The
campaign has even been shortlisted for the prestigious H&V News
Safety Initiative of the Year Award.

Week 2011 to see all the promotional activity
that took place.
Continuing the success of last year’s campaign we anticipate
that this year will be even bigger, but we need your support to
help make this happen.
There are a variety of ways to get involved, from adding
information onto your website to placing an article in your
newsletter. No matter how big or small your commitment we can
supply you with the tools to help make it a great success.
